First Post

I started this blog late last year but never got around to update it. At first I wanted to try all the Singapore Noodle in every Chinese restaurant (hence the name of the blog) in Melbourne (and everywhere else) to find out what is the real Singapore Noodle (what's inside, how do they cook it, etc). This is because my partner (who is a Singaporean) said that there is no such thing as a Singapore Noodle and if there is, it was surely not invented in Singapore or by someone in Singapore.

So, I was confused. The problem is that I am working (casually) at a small Chinese restaurant in Carlton that I think has the best Singapore Noodle I've ever eaten (review to come later). Anyway, I tried to do this a couple of times (ordering Singapore Noodle whenever I eat out). That didn't last long. One was because other Singapore Noodle taste horrible and two, I can't bear eating Singapore Noodle all the time. Then, I decided to quit my so called 'quest' to find the 'authentic' Singapore Noodle.

Now, it's time to start fresh again. I'll start this blog not to review one particular dish but to review many dishes from all the restaurants that I visited or will visit. And because I don't earn much, the restaurants that I go to would be considered 'cheap' and affordable, the kinds of restaurants that are in The Age Cheap Eats Guide rather than The Age Good Food Guide. Anyway, we'll see how it go. Maybe I'll win Tatts (lottery in Australia) and I'll start eating at Crown everyday.

Another thing, I live in Melbourne so my regular posts would be restaurants in Melbourne. Also, I'm not an expert reviewer, so please take my review lightly and judge it for yourself whether I'm right or wrong cause people have different tastes. So, enjoy the ride.
